Greenwich Kitchen Center Teaches Design Skills At College Park Elementary Career Day

Virginia Beach, VA, June 23, 2014 – At Career Day at College Park Elementary School in Virginia Beach, Greenwich Kitchen Center designers Renee Torgler and Casey Szkola showed preK through 5th grade students a few of the skills needed to design and remodel a kitchen. In addition to looking through material samples, the children were shown how to measure, read blueprints, draw kitchens and bathrooms using templates and how to choose design materials such as cabinets, counter tops, paint and hardware.

Some of the students reported wanting to be a princess, a scientist, a military officer, an architect, a dancer, a singer, a football player, a pediatrician, a therapist, alawyer, and an artist. Other professionals sharing about their careers were a banker, military personnel, a fire fighter, an attorney, a photographer, and an artist.
